August is an exciting month for us as we begin our busiest season in our ministry’s history. We are planning 12 crusades in the next 12 months, averaging one major Gospel crusade each month. This is something we have been praying and working toward for a long time and we are excited to see what the Lord is going to do as we minister in some of the most unreached areas of the world. If you would, please keep us in your prayers as this season begins. Just this month, Kevin will be conducting a large crusade in a strong Muslim nation in Asia and Daniel will be doing a crusade in Burundi, Africa. Your prayers and support enable us to do all of this.
I want to take a moment to share something a little more personal in this month’s newsletter. This past year a dream of mine came true. I was featured on our church’s (Victory Church) worship album with an original song I wrote during a difficult time in my life. A few years ago after the passing of my mother, I wrote a song that expressed my heart toward what I was going through. During that time I was reading Psalms and I kept seeing the reoccurring theme of God being our fortress in time of need. Psalm 18:2 says, “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
I was going through a time that I needed to rest in the truth of God as my fortress and felt while I was reading that I had lyrics to a song I felt was not only for myself, but for the Church. God was so faithful to give me the song in its entirety very quickly and the melody fell very shortly behind. Our church released an album of all original songs and I was able to sing my song for it! In the near future we will even be doing the songs in Portuguese for those in Brazil that have been asking for it! We believe that this is one more way for us to bring the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
God uses our times of trouble for the good and I believe that the words of this song are exactly that for so many people around the world. When they feel as though they just need the peace of God and they are searching for something, they can listen to this song and remember or learn that in the presence of God is where they will find their peace and joy; their fear will leave, and they will be set free!
